Washington, DC Cruises: Set Sail from the Capital

by Missourism

While Miami holds the title of the cruise capital, travelers can embark on cruises from Washington, D.C.

American Cruise Lines introduces its American Revolution itineraries from the nation’s capital, journeying through the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River, and York River.

These unique itineraries offer access to ports unreachable by larger ships, allowing guests to explore U.S. history in depth.

Melissa Young, Director of Business Development, highlights the convenience of these cruises for the drive-to market, eliminating the need for flights.

The Washington, D.C. cruises will be available from spring to fall, with plans extending into 2025 and 2026.

The inaugural sailings for 2024 are scheduled to commence on March 26.

Departing from the Wharf in Southwest D.C., guests will have the chance to explore historical landmarks and cultural attractions along the itinerary.

Stops include Annapolis, Maryland, where visitors can tour the homes of Declaration of Independence signers, and Virginia's Historic Triangle, encompassing Colonial Williamsburg to Yorktown Battlefield.

The 10-night cruises provide a comprehensive experience, with prices starting at $6,160 per person based on double occupancy.

This fare covers all meals, onboard entertainment, and more. Additionally, select departures offer complimentary round-trip flights for added convenience.
